| College Scouting Report | I’ve talked to one director of collegiate scouting and one of Baker’s former Trojan teammates and they both believe Baker could be a dominant NFL center.
| Strengths | 4-year starter with a great all-around game; more of a finesse-type blocker than Long or Cherilus, a la Willie Roaf; smart in blitz and stunt pickups, moves his feet very well; good mirror skills in pass protection, shifts his weight well; not an overpowering run blocker and has zero nastiness to his game; more weight-room strong than functional but has adequate leg and upper body bulk; gets out in front on the run very well even though he’s slow afoot
| Weaknesses | He doesn’t always bring his “A” game and is not a real competitive guy; has loads of experience in a pro-style offense and has all the physical tools to be dominant. Similar to Levi Brown last year in that all the knocks on Baker are related to desire and mental ability. Brown was the hit of the Combine and raised himself at least half a round in status.
