After a two year stay in Atlanta, the ties have finally been cut. The Atlanta Falcons have cut wide receiver Peerless Price. After many speculations this off season, Mora and the Gang didn't feel like Price's Abilities was no longer needed. His salary either. When your paycheck does not equal your production on the field, it's a good bet that your days are numbered. That's the way the NFL works.

After coming off a great season in 2002 with Buffalo. The young wide receiver caught 94 passes, and ended up with over 1200 yards in receiving. A wide receiver that had a lot of things to look forward to. Even with the trade to Atlanta, Peerless was on top of the world. Since he already had made his home in Atlanta, and would be getting to play with Michael Vick.

After a preseason injury to Vick. Price would have to start his career in Atlanta with Doug Johnson and Kurt Kittner as the quarterbacks. While Price's Season was nothing to write home about. Neither was the Falcon's 2003 Season. Managing only to catch 64 passes that year, things were still optimistic. After all, Superman wasn't in, flying around with that number 7 on his chest.

Then came 2004. All the excitement in the air. A healthy Mike Vick. A team that played really well all year long. However, things were still on the slide for Peerless Price. His catches were still plummeting. Finishing the year with 45, which led all wide receivers. The tight end Algae Crumpler was Vick's main target. He only caught three passes more.

You can't put all the blame on Price. It isn't like any of the other receivers are running circles around him. As much as Michael Vick wants to be known as a quarterback. He might have to start getting the ball to the wide receivers more. He hasn't proven at no time in his NFL Career, that he can consistently make the reads, and find the receivers.

Peerless Price will find a job again in the NFL. Just at this point and time, the Falcon's don't have the ability to have a threat in their passing game. While first round picks Roddy White and Michael Jenkins look to fill that void one day. It's gonna take time. It's a work in progress, and let's just hope the Falcons can make progress. Chalk Peerless Price up, as the first casualty of the "Michael Vick Experience".
