2008 Season Preview: Cleveland Browns
The Browns are clearly improved, but the non-divisional schedule is brutal, and this team still has some questions.
Browns Pre-Draft Summit
Last season was an epic one for the Browns and with a host of new additions, the expectations heading into 2008 have only increased.
Grading The Deal: Stallworth Joins Anderson In Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns mean business and the New England Patriots’ record-setting season seems as though it was years ago, not simply one short month.
Grading The Deal: Anderson Sticks With Cleveland
The Browns, who were rumored to be content with losing Derek Anderson via free agency, were never going to give him the money he could have gotten elsewhere. With that said, Anderson cemented himself as the team’s quarterback of today with his tremendous play.
Welcome To Believeland
To “believe” is to expect or suppose. The Browns are now one game away from turning belief into actuality. With a win versus the Bengals or a Tennessee loss, the Browns would clinch their first playoff spot since 2002. They have the NFL's last ranked defense, so that offense must be pretty spectacular.
2007 Season Preview: Cleveland Browns
Cleveland's net upgrade in overall talent level is staggering. Most people like to begin and end all conversations about the Browns with the prominent offensive rookies, but this team has very quietly assembled what could be a very good defense. The back 8 on defense (the Browns run a 3-4) is young, talented, and well-suited for the style that Head Coach Romeo Crennel wants to play.
2007 Draft Review: Cleveland Browns
You cannot argue with the deals made to get Brady Quinn and Eric Wright, as their talent is significantly better than anything on the roster. Joe Thomas was the safe choice at #3, but considering their recent history, not a bad choice.
2006 NFL Team Preview: Cleveland Browns
In a division where the three other teams all have somewhat legit Super Bowl aspirations, it’s a tough time to be an up and comer. This team would finish second in the NFC North or West, and in 2007 they will be ready to do that in the AFC North. I see another 6-10, but two wins either way is easy to envision, depending on how quickly the team comes together.
Many Things To Look Forward To
I know, I know, the Browns fans motto for a long time has always been “There’s always next year”. One difference between that in the past five years is the fact that we have a head coach and a general manager whom have both had the opportunity to help build Super Bowl teams in two different locations.
Midseason Report
The Browns are 3-6 through nine games this season. Three games is more than many people said the 2005 Cleveland Browns could win. This team is far from perfect and far from being competitive at the current moment but Romeo Crennel has this team in every game. This year the Browns have fought and fought hard. Stupid mistakes and the overall lack of talent has been the downfall. Usually that’s the case for all teams that are in the rebuilding mode.
It Just Takes Time
Defensively the Browns have been improving game by game. It’s a day to day process and the defense is starting to come alive.
30 Million Reasons Why 2006 Will Be The Year Of The Dawg
The Browns made a lot of moves this off season to make room for 2006. They released or traded around 46 % of the 2004 Browns roster. Included in that list were some of the highest paid Cleveland Browns.
Dilfer Continues To Impress
While quarterback Trent Dilfer impresses, the defense is continuing its improvement. The Browns defense shut down Peyton Manning this week and didn’t allow him to throw any touchdowns. The Cleveland Browns secondary has become one of the most underrated secondary’s in the NFL.
Off And Running
With things looking positive there is plenty of optimism in Cleveland. It appears that the team is headed in the right direction. Led by an underrated quarterback, Trent Dilfer is full of passion the Browns may have a shot this year to play spoiler.
Cleveland Browns 2005: Defense Preview
In the past two seasons the Browns defensive line has gotten hammered by the opposing teams running backs. Jamal Lewis broke the single game rushing record against the Browns in 2003. Last year the Browns ranked dead last in rushing yards allowed per game (144.6) and 21st the previous season. (131.6) This year the Cleveland Browns have switched to the 3-4 defense. The slated starters are Orpheus Roye and Alvin McKinley at the ends, and Jason Fisk in the middle.

Cleveland Browns' team columnist Ricky Brown gives us an in-depth look at the Browns offensive outlook for the 2005 season.
William Green Looking To Shine In The Shadows
Green has proven that he can run in the NFL. As a rookie running back in 2002, Green rushed for over 700 yards and 5 touchdowns in the final 7 games. This helped lead the Browns into the postseason for the first time since their return. The question isn’t can he run, it’s can he fight the demons that have haunted him in the past?
