"From all the rumors, I thought I was out of here. Just from listening to everything. But then I listened to Coach saying I wasn't going nowhere, so that reassured me that I wasn't going anywhere," Williams said.
There were rumors swirling that Williams was close to being dealt to both the Eagles and Cowboys this winter.
"I mean, I don't think it was zero percent chance I wasn't going anywhere. I think if somebody would have come with something that could have benefited the Lions, I think I would have been out of here," Williams added. [READ] | |

The Detroit Free Press - 05/09 - 8:44 AM EST  Lions quarterback Drew Stanton doesn't understand why former offensive coordinator Mike Martz tried to work on altering his mechanics, according to The Detroit Free Press.
"He changed everything, and I didn't really understand why and I never really got explanations on how to work on it," Stanton said. "It was one of those things, 'Well, you're just doing this wrong."

The Tennessean - 05/09 - 8:40 AM EST  The Titans signed kicker Rod Bironas to a one-year deal on Thursday worth $1.47 million, according to The Tennessean.
The team made him a one-year tender offer in February, but Tennessee remains interested in signing him to a long-term contract.

The Washington Post - 05/08 - 11:16 AM EST  The NFL obtained eight more video tapes from former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh recently, according to The Washington Post.
The videos include taped signals from six games between the 2000 and 2002 seasons, including an AFC Title game against the Steelers.
However, the materials did not include footage of a St. Louis walkthrough prior to the Super Bowl in 2002.

The Chronicle-Telegram - 05/08 - 11:12 AM EST  Linebacker Willie McGinest has announced that 2008 will be his final season in the NFL, according to The Chronicle-Telegram.
McGinest, who currently plays for the Browns but made his name as a member of the Patriots, told SI.com that he'll play out his contract and retire at the end of the season.
"This will be it," he told SI.com. "This will be my 15th season. I’ve worked hard; I think I’ve done everything I set out to accomplish."

ESPN - 05/08 - 10:56 AM EST  Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will not be at the team's minicamp because he is unhappy with his current contract situation, according to the Associated Press.
The team's camp opens Thursday.
"Albert is continuing to work out on his own," agent Chad Speck said.
The Titans tagged Haynesworth as their franchise player in February and now must come to terms with him on a new deal by July 15.

He is awaiting trial for misdemeanor charges of assault and a decision from the NFL on whether or not he will be able to play in the league next season.

Elizabeth Cartwright, 22, also said that she called her father to inform police about the way Benson was being treated by the arresting officers.
