Cowher Didn't Want Favre As His QB

New York Post - Bill Cowher has clearly stated that he is not interested in becoming the head coach of the Jets and sources close to Cowher said he did not want to have Brett. Favre as his quarterback. He also wanted to bring in people he was familiar with to handle personnel.

A source familiar with Cowher's thinking said before last night's decision came down that he would have had to receive assurances from the Jets that Favre no longer was in the picture before agreeing to take control.

"There's no way he's taking Brett Favre as his quarterback," said one person close to Cowher. [READ]
