No Deal Imminent For Eli Manning

Newsday - The Giants are focused on signing all of their rookies, and appear to have put a contract extension for Eli Manning on the back burner.

A source close to the negotiations told Newsday that no deal is imminent between the Giants and their franchise quarterback.

Both sides would still prefer to have a deal in place before Manning becomes a free agent after the 2009 season, but the only timeline the source gave Newsday was that something would be reached "eventually." [READ]
