Sources: 49ers GM McCloughan Considering Resignation

Santa Rosa Press Democrat - The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, citing sources, reported late Wednesday that 49ers GM Scott McCloughan is considering resigning. The paper said McCloughan met earlier in the day with team officials including owner Jed York.

McCloughan, in charge of player personnel since 2005, did not respond to messages from the Press Democrat or The Mercury News seeking comment.

Peter Schaffer, the agent for the GM, told profootballtalk.com: “Scot McCloughan is not resigning as General Manager of the San Francisco 49ers. I have no idea how that rumor got started.” [READ]
