Pats Place Seymour On PUP List

Boston Herald - The most surprising news came not by a name on the list of 21 players cut by the Patriots yesterday, but by the name of an integral performer who is going to miss the first six weeks of the season.

While trimming the roster, the Pats also placed defensive lineman Richard Seymour on the reserve/PUP list. That means the All-Pro defensive end, who had offseason knee surgery, will miss nearly half the season.

Few eyebrows had been raised about Seymour’s absence to this point because there was no need to rush him back during the preseason. Apparently, there was more to it. The knee still isn’t quite right. [READ]
