Bloomberg.com - The New England Patriots, who have outscored opponents by an average of 25.4 points during their 10-0 start, can become the first National Football League team to clinch a playoff berth this weekend.

The Patriots opened a five-game lead on Buffalo in the American Football Conference's East Division with their 56-10 win over the Bills two days ago.

New England can clinch a sixth postseason berth in seven years with a home win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 25, the NFL said.
