McCown To Start If Culpepper Can't Go Against Broncos
1st December, 2007 - 10:35 am
ESPN - Quarterback Daunte Culpepper is questionable for the Raiders' game Sunday against the Broncos after missing practice Friday with a sore quadriceps.

Josh McCown took the majority of snaps with the first team Friday despite having two dislocated joints in his non-throwing left pinky and would start against the Broncos if Culpepper can't.

Coach Lane Kiffin might not decide on a starter until Sunday morning but did rule out the chance that No. 1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell would get the nod.

Russell has been getting extra work this week with Culpepper sidelined, but Kiffin said much of that was scheduled before the injury.

"There are some things we wanted to clean up with him, and we've kept him out before to work on things," Kiffin said.

McCown began the season as the starter before spraining his foot in the third game against Cleveland. Culpepper started the next four games before McCown got the job back. [READ]
