Packers' Barnett Wins Appeal, Won't Be Suspended
21st August, 2008 - 5:29 pm
ESPN - Green Bay linebacker Nick Barnett won an appeal of a one-game suspension for his involvement in an off-field altercation and will not miss the team's opener, according to ESPN.com.

Barnett will be fined one week's pay but would rather play for free than not play at all.

"I believe so," Barnett said. "I was talking to myself [Tuesday] and thinking about the steep fine and how much it was, but the league has to do what it has to do in order to keep the NFL in the right direction. It sounds steep, and me personally, I don't have anything on my record anymore, but it's the personal conduct [policy], and you have to abide by it."

Barnett will lose $155,882 of his $2.65 million salary this season. [READ]
