Collins Want To Start Somewhere In 2009?

Tennessean - Kerry Collins can't see himself settling for a backup role again next season. He is in his third season with the Titans and is in the final year of a two-year contract.

"After sitting for two years and not being a starter, I know I can still do this at high level," Collins said. "It is going to have to be a starting job or I'm going to have to make a decision. I feel like I'm a starter. It is going to be hard for me to go back to being a backup."

Collins is making $1.75 million this year. In training camp, Collins and the Titans had preliminary discussions about a contract extension, but he now says he wants to wait before making any big decisions.

"I would love to stay here, I really would. I love playing for Jeff. I love playing in Nashville. I feel like I fit well as a part of this team,'' Collins said. "But having said that ... I think I am better off just waiting to the end of the year and seeing how it all plays out.''

RealGM Note: Collins is currently ranked 22nd amongst quarterbacks in season FIC and 'deserves' to make $4.85 million, giving him a Reina Value of +68%. [READ]
