Lions Still Believe In Marinelli

Detroit Free Press - Many believe that Rod Marinelli will be the next coach to be fired in the NFL, but a number of Lions have come to his defense.

"I absolutely love him," quarterback Dan Orlovsky said. "Everyone always thinks they have the answer, until you are in those shoes. I very much believe that players play and coaches coach.

"I am sure he will look back on things and say, 'I should have done things differently' a week ago or two weeks ago or two years from now. That is human nature. (But) I love the way he coaches and I love the message he presents."

Detroit is 0-5, and traded Roy Williams to the Cowboys for draft picks this week.

"Wayne Fontes was one of the best yellers I ever heard, and it works," kicker Jason Hanson said. "I am more of the camp that it is OK to be negative. It is OK to get cussed out the day after a game.

"I appreciate that and it sets the tone that (losing) is not acceptable." [READ]
